Why antimicrobial dressing?
Muntela ADRS provides a barrier and antiseptic protection against broad spectrum of gram-positive and gram-negative microorganisms including some multi-drug resistant strains such as Methicillin-Resistant Staphylococcus Aureus (MRSA) and Vancomycin-Resistant Enterococcus (VRE).
The proven combination of PHBM
polymer and silver nanoparticles

-
Attacks bacteria on and within the dressing,
helping to keep bacteria out of the wound -
Limits cross-contamination while promoting
a healing environment
Who are at risk?
-
Patients with diabetes

ADVANTAGES
OUR PRODUCT
Muntela ADRS employs the combination of two proven anti-microbial agents (both Ag and PHMB are included in the Canadian Wound Treatment Formulary) providing the most optimal barrier and anti-microbial function for patients with diabetes, with suppressed immune systems and compromised wounds due to:

-
Two different complementary/synergistic mechanisms of anti-microbial action (cell wall membrane disruption vs cell reproduction disruption)
-
Two different mechanical actions diffusion slow/fast-moving polycations (diffusion vs absorption)
-
In addition to other applications, PHMB functionalized silver nanoparticles would be extremely useful in the textile and healthcare industries due to the strong interaction of PHMB with cellulose fabrics.

100 times higher bacteriostatic and bactericidal effects!
PHMB-functionalized silver nanoparticles evaluated for their anti-microbial activity were found to be about 100 times more efficient against antibiotic microorganisms compared to the products using the antibacterial effect of either silver or PHMB
