PHMB-functionalized silver nanoparticles evaluated for their antimicrobial activity were found to have about 100 times more of a powerful effect against antibiotic microorganisms, compared to the products using the antibacterial effect of either silver or PHMB
Muntela is a safe dressing loaded with bacteria-specific silver nanoparticles. Muntela is safe - it won't penetrate the bloodstream and no silver will be detected in the urine. The side effects of other silver dressings are not observed with Muntela.

The Muntela absorbent wound dressing accelerates the healing process by protecting the wounds from bacteria and viral infections. The fine silver nananoparticle is surrounded by a polyphenol and polymer-stabilized layer which helps the particles to attach to the surface and destroy bacteria only when they are close to the skin. Muntela Silver nanoparticles are bacteria specific and are non-toxic for the skin.

Silver nanoparticles of 20 nm are 1000 times more effective than 50 nm particles(Y. Chen et al., 2020). Therefore, the Muntela ADRS system has a potent bacteriostatic and bactericidal effect.
The Muntela with stabilized silver nanoparticles will be effective against an extensive spectrum of opportunistic microorganisms.

Ideally, the application of the dressing should be when the injury is healthy and Open. However, the dressing can be also use as a measure to heal the extremities faster change the dressing every 7 days. Bacteria will be slowly killed by the nanoparticles meanwhile the skin cells are protected.
